Shin Ninagawa passed away on December 28th, 2020, after a long fight with illness. Shin was a founder and CEO of Splash Inc., and a friend of many.
Her friends describe her as huge in spirit; warm, generous, and welcoming. Shin always brought her bright smile, sense of humor, thoughtful conversation and made a lasting impact on the lives of those around her.
We want to celebrate Shin’s positive influence on others by starting a memorial scholarship fund to continue her ambassador work and help others in the community. Shin was a known ambassador and enjoyed participating in all sorts of Claris’ events. Jet-lagged or not, big or small the event, she was always there to support our community. She was a bright light at every conference she attended. You could always count on her positive and caring energy.
Shin was always ready to learn about her peers, her friends, and her community. She remembered everyone and welcomed all of us with a huge smile. Her kind and loving spirit will be missed, but we hope to keep her energy alive and will think of her at every future event.
We would love to keep that excitement alive through an Engage scholarship for women in the Asian/Pacific region. Behind the scenes of this crowdfunding, Women Innovating Together will be working on the details surrounding the scholarship and will be able to share that soon! Meanwhile, we’d like to ask you to join us in honoring Shin’s memory by donating and supporting women from APAC to attend Claris Engage.
